City of VacavilleIn addition to the following compensation packages, Vacaville pays from $1,978 to $5,917 per year for each manager's health insurance, depending on family status, and $840 per year for dental insurance. Employees hired or promoted before June 1, 1992, who are covered by other insurance may receive up to $4,915 in cash each year in lieu of health benefits and up to $600 cash in lieu of dental benefits. City of FairfieldIn addition to the following compensation packagse, Fairfield managers are eligible for vacation and sick leave and some extra payments. Also, the city-paid retirement contribution does not include the Public Employee Retirement System employer contribution, which was 0 percent this year. Vacation leave accrues at 10 days per year for up to three years of service, 15 days for four to 10 years, 20 days for 11 to 24 years, and 30 days for 25 or more years. The city manager and department heads accrue another 11.6 days per year. Department heads may convert vacation accrual to cash. Upon separation from city, employees are paid for any unused vacation leave.Managers accrue 12 days of sick leave annually and can cash out 25 percent of unused sick leave accrued each year. Upon separation from city, employees are paid up to 60 percent for any unused sick leave, depending on years of service. Managers providing proof of medical coverage may receive $186 a month in lieu of medical benefits. County courtsJudges are paid by the state of California, although the county is required to contribute toward their salaries. Currently, that contribution is $791.66 per month.
