In addition to the following compensation packages, managers are entitled to health and welfare benefits. The college currently pays 100 percent of premium costs for medical care, an amount that ranges from $2,696 to $10,992 per employee each year. It also pays annually $1,206 for dental benefits, $24 for a $10,000 life insurance policy, $20 for an employee assistance program, $333 for a vision plan and $48 for a $25,000 management life insurance policy.
The college district's contribution to manager's retirement varies and changes annually. For managers who are members of the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), the district is required by law to pay an amount equal to 8.25 percent of their base salary. For those enrolled in the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), no employee contribution is currently required.
Managers receive the IRS-approved mileage (currently 31 cents per mile) for required travel in their personal cars. Meal allowance for required travel is $6.50 for breakfast, $9 for lunch and $14 for dinner. Managers receive 14.4 days of sick leave each year, but are not eligible for sick leave payoff upon resignation. There is no payment in lieu of taking vacation time. However, if a manager is refused vacation time, he or she is paid time and one-half for the amount of vacation refused. Managers are eligible for vacation payoff upon resignation.

Classified employees who have been with the county office three years or less receive 12 days annual vacation. It increases to 15 days after four years and 20 days after 11 to 15 years. Each year thereafter, the employee receives an additional day, to a maximum of 25 days per year.
Certificated employees receive no paid vacation. Instead, principals are contracted to work 210 days per year. The chief of administrative/student services and the associate superintendent work 225 days per year.
Certificated administrators receive 11 or 12 sick leave days per year, depending on the number of days they are contracted to work. Classified employees receive one day of sick leave per month, equal to the number of hours worked per day.
