In addition to the following compensation, county managers are entitled to longevity pay: 2.5 percent of base pay after 10 years of service, 5 percent at 15 years, 7.5 percent at 20 years, 10 percent at 25 years, 12.5 percent at 30 and 15 percent at 35 years. The county did not specify which employees receive longevity pay.

Employees are also entitled to vacation based on years of service, up to 360 hours per year. Administrative leave cannot be carried over, and the unused balance is paid for at the end of the fiscal year.

Elected officials receive no vacation, sick leave or administrative leave, nor are they docked for days off.

County employees are entitled to participate in the 401(a) plan, unless otherwise prevented by law or contract; the county did not specify which employees did not participate.

There are two tiers of dental benefits, depending on the number of dependents. The following numbers are based on the higher figure of $809; the lower figure is $348 per year.

Solano County Superior Court

Judges may elect a flexible cash option, $140 a month, in lieu of health and dental insurance. No other information was available about health benefits or the employer contribution toward them.

The state contributes 8 percent of salary toward retirement for judges appointed or elected before November 1994. For those appointed or elected after that date, the state's contribution varies. This fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2001, the contribution is 18.13 percent.

These numbers do not reflect the 8.5 percent salary increase judges are scheduled to receive effective Jan. 1, 2001.

Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District

Vacaville Fire Protection District
