Solano Community College

The following information is indicative of amounts for a full-time employee. Employees working less than full-time receive prorated amounts. Managers receive the IRS-approved mileage (currently 34.5 cents per mile) for required travel in their personal cars. Cars are not provided. For required travel, the meal allowance is $6.50 for breakfast, $9 for lunch and $14 for dinner.

Longevity is based on the following formula: $1,000 per year at 10 years; $1,200 per year at 15 years; $1,400 per year at 20 years; and $1,600 at 25 years.

Employee contributions to retirement fund are paid by the employee; the district's employer contribution changes annually and is currently 0 percent for CalPERS and 8.25 percent for CalSTRS.

There is no payment in lieu of taking vacation time. If a manager is refused vacation time, he or she is paid time and one/half for the amount of vacation refused. Managers are eligible for vacation payoff upon resignation.

Managers receive 14.4 days sick leave per year, but are not eligible for payoff upon resignation.

A $1,500 per year district-paid tax-sheltered annuity is available to employees who do not enroll in the district-paid medical plans; they remain eligible for dental, vision and life insurance plans. Managers have a choice of three health plans, and the rates range from $2,880 to $11,997. The following figures are based on the highest figure.
